when did i become like this?

“What I can remember
Is a lot like water
Trickling down a page
Of the most beautiful colors
I can’t quite put my finger down
On the moment that I became like this”

- Unfold, Unfold, Marie Digby

The song and the quote of the day all rolled into one. (When the next ‘of the day’ will come…depends on my mood.)  =) I cheated, shoot me. (Not really. I value my life…a lot.) This song is pretty much me in a nutshell. So much like me that it’s kinda creepy in an awesome kind of way. Actually, there are quite a few songs on the entire album that I can relate too in some form or fashion. I’m personally a huuuuge fan of the lyrical style that she chose. The words just seem to flow so fluid that after the song is finished, I’m filled with envious feelings and all the other emotions she meant to inflect with each song. The song is just uplifting by saying that she’s going to show her true colors instead of hiding behind her walls that she built. As the song aptly puts it, she’s going to unfold. Now, go download it and enjoy it.

headaches, toothaches, heartaches.

November 21, 2008 at 4:00 pm (bad news, good news, life in general, music, music review, obama files, personal writing, playlist, ranting about music, ranting about politics, wh staff files) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Life is full of aches. Heck, I currently have all three of those. Mind you my toothache is more like a teethache because they all hurt. (I’ve got braces. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking…nineteen with braces?!? I don’t care. o.0 I was already a loser without them. They just enhance the quality a little bit.) I’ve also got a headache over all this political jumbo-mumbo. Mostly because Congress is batty. (Okay, namely Pelosi. That woman worries me quite a bit.) I haven’t paid much attention to anything to do with the President or PEBO. (it’s an acronym for President Elect Barack Obama) I did catch the fact that he seems to be getting a lot of Clintonees, including Clinton herself.

Ehhh, I’ve tried to avoid it since I became a little too obsessed during the election. I’ve been trying to chill a little. Depending on the day, I’ll sometimes get involved a little too much. Anyways, I digress.

The last that I don’t exactly have but it’s something I’m familiar with is heartache. It’s a bug that’s stricken quite a few people that I know. One thing I’ve learned about heartache is that you can’t dwell on it too much. Wallow in the feeling for a little while and then pick yourself up and move on. You might have pangs of pain but that’s normal. Eventually it fades unless you cling to that sad feeling and you just mope around. That’s just my advice that I learned from my own personal experience. It doesn’t mean it’s that sound but it works for me.

Francesca Battistelli’s, ‘I’m Letting Go’ is the song of the day! It’s uplifting and positively charming. iTunes is obviously a good place where you can get it from.

and I’m going to start doing quote of the day again soon. For now, I’m just being lazy.

she’s fresh to death…

November 20, 2008 at 10:00 pm (bad news, good news, music, personal writing, playlist) (, , , , , , , , , , )

Actually, I’m just fresh from a meeting with my orthodonist. Let me tell you something (or as Raoul from Happy Feet would say, ‘let me tell joo somethin’) that new wires huuuurt. Not in the OMG, I’m gonne die kinda way but the omogoshi’msomiserable kinda way. Yay for ibuprofen! But yeah, that explains why I’m not ranting tonight about politics and/or music. Honestly, I’ve also had five hours asleep (boo insomnia) so I’m also a leeeeetle crankay. (translation: really cranky) I’ve totally got a rant planned out for tomorrow though.

I’m still debating about going to go see Twilight. Part of me wants to see it because of the pretty cinematography but the other half of me says, ‘nooo, it’ll be worse than the book’ because the book had characters that to me were a little…one dimensional (and I hate that) but the setting is grorgeous. Someone convince me. xDD

Oh, and on repeat today? The Way We Talk by The Maine.

personally, this is personal….

November 18, 2008 at 10:51 pm (good news, life in general, music, personal writing, playlist, ranting about music, updates) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Hmm, that would make a nifty lyric. I might develop that later so no stealing!

This week I’m planning on buckling down on all of my school stuff that I’ve got to get together so I can start this Jaaaanuaray. Like soon. Anywho, I’m also in the works of several massive projects. One of which is practicing those lovely Christmas songs because…if you don’t start now then trust me, you shouldn’t be part of Christmas, duh! (What? I like Christmas! It involves two of my most favorite things, Jesus and presents! Right, so the presents don’t compare to Jesus but I like presents all the same…moving on…) I’m also working on maybe making my own Christmas jingle. Ooooh, you might be able to find it on my myspace around early December 1st, if I can come up with a decent one.

I’m also working on story. It’s only about 1300 words long currently but it’s getting there. So, far I’ve got the beginning of chapter one and chapter two (both on the same file xDD) I won’t give away too much except to say that it does involve music, a band from a foreign country, (from the Asia side to be more specific…not that you care to know) and that’s all I can say because honestly that’s about all that I have going. Well, I have a few more details but I’d prefer they were a surprise until I flesh it out more. Why do I only know have only this much, you ask? Well, because I’m a very disorganized writer. I don’t like plotlines…I find them too constraining because one day I might decide to take the characters to Finland and the next day they might wind up in Japan. Honestly, it just depends on my motivation and since I’m one of those weird people who does the whole, ‘hmm, if I were so-and-so what would I do in such-and-such situation’ when it comes to characters, it can sometimes take a while. You’ll be able to find it on fictionpress soon and I will link ya! For now, it’s a secreeet.

Just remember that none of this is set in stone.

…..because I always get sidetracked by something else.

(I might have the attention span of a two year old.)

Oh, and the song currently on repeat for today? Hush Hush by The Spill Canvas.

it just fits my mood, let’s leave it at that.

let’s start with a whole bunch of jumbled thoughts.

November 2, 2008 at 5:51 am (historical facts, quote of the day, ranting about politics) (, , , , , , , , , )

quote of the day

It is not government’s decision of what you are allowed to do
But your decision of what you allow government to do

by me! =)

While other people were watching movies and television that would be far more interesting to them, I was tuned into something that most dumb blondes couldn’t even begin to grasp. I was watching the History Channel. I was learning about the early presidents so sue me another time for slandering and stereotyping blondes everywhere (though I currently have blonde hair so….yay, free speech!)

Anyways, I came across one theme that plays through political history every election season and beyond. The theme? Partisanship. Haven’t you noticed how Democrats blame the Republicans and the Republicans blame the Democrats? It’s no wonder they can’t get anything done. They’re all too busy stuck in their corners grumbling over a stupid bitter feud that’s lasted for far too long (it’s been running a century+ strong.) The little parties can’t do anything worth our time because they’re just as bad as the two majorities. Ahem, correction, minorities. They don’t exactly represent all of us anymore. Some politicians have pushed themselves ahead and are now focused on only what they want and not what is good the PEOPLE whom elect them. Gee, I wonder who that could be? (cough, obvious, cough.)

I also noticed the trend of Heroes & Villains that has plagued the presidency. For one the good presidents have always been: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson (some consider him a personal hero, some don’t.), Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, JFK, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton. The bad men who were president? John Quincy Adams (one of my favorites but hey, I did do an in-depth project on him in fourth grade which included a mini-replica of the first pool table ever brought to the White House.), Martin Van Burin(Ruin), Andrew Jackson  (see above quotations on AJ), Richard Nixon, Herbert Hoover (poor Hoover got the start of the Depression going…FDR just continued it.), George W. Bush, George W.H. Bush, and Jimmy Carter (boo, hiss, boo! Have I mentioned that he’s my least favorite?)

History has a way of being rough to those who more than likely just got a rough deal. Luckily, with history we can only speculate and look objectively from ALL points of view so I’m looking at all the points of view when it comes to the ‘villains’. Perhaps they aren’t bad men but they were just tossed into situations which led them to be cast as a fool.

So, that’s why I’m thinking if I ever land in a history book, I’m going to write a diary (HELLO, blog!) and provide proof for them. (This is for you future people. C: ) Anywho, to end this, I will say that SNL was actually funny with Senator McCain tonight. The QVC opening was wicked.

Oh, and my own personal heroes? I’ll list presidential and non-presidential just to feed my own ego (which is actually the size of a deflated balloon so honestly, it wouldn’t hurt…right?) In no particular order by the way!

the all time most awesome role models ever.

What he isn’t and is.

November 2, 2008 at 10:41 pm (good news, mccain files, personal heroes, political information, ranting about politics) (, , , , , , , , , , )

John McCain is more than a man. John McCain is more than a politician.  He does not just spout words. He does not fight just to win. He speaks with purpose. He fights to better this country for it’s people. You may not agree with him but you always know where he stands. You know his past without question. He isn’t self serving and does not need to be vindicated by his country or by the American people. He does not need to win the Presidential election just so his faith can restored in America. His faith has never left this country and there’s never been a reason why it was questioned. John McCain isn’t a great speaker or the best politician but he is….

a Hero.

and it is why I choose to fight.

a look back into my writing past.

November 2, 2008 at 8:22 pm (personal writing, poetry) ()

it’s an outrageously old poem, somewhere in between that two year-three year old kinda old range so I like to think my writing has progressed a little (or a lot whichever you prefer.)

The Darkness

Heaven smiles and the fear
It fades for a while
Until darkness comes into view
Changing the golden hue
Into something much darker, much more sinister
The little girl in the corner cowers
As the dark overpowers
The sun and the bright blue sky
She begins to cry
When the night began she thought she was a woman
The poor little girl
Is scarred and broken
Afraid of everything in the world
Because of what hasn’t been forgotten
Of what has been done to her by the darkness
The bloody tears taste of the pain
Of the blows she’d received moments ago
As the rain falls
She struggles with inner demons of torment
Simply trying to let go
At the same exact time
She said no
The darkness didn’t listen
She begged to be let go
The darkness didn’t listen
She begged it to stop
It only did when he was finished

LEAK: Obama Concession Draft Admits He’s Unfit

VIA SCRAPPLEFACE

Posted By Scott Ott On October 31, 2008 @ 3:50 pm In Politics

(2008-10-31) — The text of an address written by a Barack Obama speech writer, apparently scheduled for delivery on election night, inadvertently leaked to the L.A. Times today and was immediately released on the paper’s website.

The first line of the speech says, “I spoke with Sen. McCain on the phone moments ago, and I offered him and Gov. Palin our congratulations on their victory.”

With polls showing the gap between Senators McCain and Obama closing fast in the final days, the discovery of an Obama concession speech draft holds less surprise than the content of the manuscript itself, which appears to offer a sweeping admission that the junior senator from Illinois has believed all along that he was unqualified for the presidency.

The Obama for America campaign immediately disavowed the speech, but not before it had “gone viral” on the Internet, forcing normally-circumspect news organizations to reprint and repeat its questionable content without confirmation of its source.

Here are excerpts of Sen. Obama’s planned concession speech.

“My fellow people of the world, honestly…you’ve been duped. I’ve spent the past two years holding my chin up, cocking my head slightly, speaking in measured tones with great seriousness, practicing the choreographed body language of a supremely-confident leader. Frankly, I never really thought you’d buy it. But the crowds kept getting bigger, thanks to pre-speech concerts by top recording artists and celebrity endorsements. After a while, even I started to believe that I could bring change to Washington D.C., and bring hope to your pathetic lives.”

“I tried to send little signals — to issue a personal cry for help. I thought when I picked Joe Biden as VP that would bring down this whole house of cards. I mean, come on…the guy’s a gaffe machine on Red Bull, who didn’t top one percent in the Iowa caucuses. He comes from a state with a population lower than Detroit, but you guys treated him like he’s some sort of distinguished elder statesman.”

“I snubbed Hillary Clinton who had racked up 18 million votes, thinking that someone would eventually step in and do one of those interventions like they do for alcoholics, so that I could get the help I so desperately needed…but you just kept on enabling me.”

“Sarah Palin tried to tell you that I’m a socialist, but you wouldn’t listen. Instead the media viciously ridiculed a woman who has actual executive experience, the highest popularity rating of any U.S. governor, a demonstrated track record of fiscal responsibility, and a personal story of hard work, determination, grace under fire and success that I think represents the ultimate expression of feminist ideals. But the liberal feminists came out of the closet and all but admitted they didn’t really want a woman in the executive branch, they wanted a liberal. And so here I am — Jane Fonda with a baritone voice and a buzz cut.”

“Has there ever been a presidential candidate with more friends who hate America — who pray and work for the overthrow of our capitalist Republic? After the media bought my excuses about Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers and Rashid Khalidi, I’ll admit, I started getting a little cocky. At night Michelle and I would sit down on the campaign plane and draw up lists of repugnant people that I could befriend just to see how low we could go and still ride high in the polls.”

“I kept thinking that my radical position on abortion would be the device that would leave my campaign flopping on the floor choking on its own juices. Instead, there was this willing suspension of disbelief that allowed you to brush that under the rug, and throw the rug in the soiled linens closet. Out of sight, out of mind.”

“On foreign policy…The surge (that I opposed) in the Iraq war (that I opposed) has succeeded beyond my wildest imaginings. Yet you backed me up when I said that I was going to get those troops out that quagmire right away, or in 16 months, whichever comes first. Do you people even listen to the words of my speeches, or are you just mesmerized by the rhythmic vibrations of my vocal chords?”

“Anyway, lots of typical white folks are now hiding in their homes clinging to their bibles as they load their guns because they think that black folks are going to take to the streets and riot just because I lost. But come on now…do you think if McCain had lost, millions of old folks would be out there tipping police cars and breaking store windows with their canes?”

“In closing, I just want to thank all of the little people, and their imaginary friends, for the $600 million in contributions. You can be sure that every penny went to a good cause. Thanks to your generosity hundreds of oppressed, downtrodden and needy political operatives are able to keep a roof over their heads that they can retract in warm weather.”

“Traditionally, politicians end their speeches by saying, ‘God bless you, and God bless the United States of America’. But since you’ve probably heard that recording of my pastor, let me just say, in the words of Scripture, that I will always remember you as ‘the least of these‘, and feel confident in knowing that I have done it unto you.”

and if you don’t get it then obviously you’re all idiots. =)

somebody’s lying…guess who it is…

November 3, 2008 at 12:43 pm (bad news, obama files, political information, ranting about politics) (, , , , , , , )

So, flouncing around through the blogosphere, I found this lovely piece of craziness.

The source has stated that Obama and Ayers have a direct personal relationship that extends back to the 1980s and that there are now close ties between both Michelle and Barack Obama and Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, also a former leader of the Weather Underground. Global Labor believes the source to be highly credible but has not been able to confirm independently the comments made by the source.

The source has said that either Obama himself or his wife Michelle communicate with Ayers or Dohrn on a regular basis, up to “several times a week,” including discussions about the “vetting” of potential advisors to the campaign as well as potential appointments to staff positions in the new administration should Obama win the presidential race.

The source continues to support the Obama candidacy but has expressed serious concern about the influence of what is known in the campaign as the “Ayers camp” on the candidate.

taken from Global Labor & Politics Blog

Do I believe it? My instincts say it’s right but you can’t always take things at face value. You have to always be a skeptic though with Obama, he has so many conspiracy theories floating around him that it’s hard to distinguish what is true or not true. Like I said, my gut says it’s true but my head is telling me to be very careful before I completely decide it is.  So, ultimately, it is up to you if whether or not YOU, yourself, want to believe it.

my advice before election night.

November 3, 2008 at 10:21 pm (good news, life in general, mccain files, obama files, political information, ranting about politics) (, , , , , , )

First off, go vote. I don’t care who you’re voting for, just go vote. Go vote on the bigger picture and not just the economy. Sure, the economy is a huge thing but you have other factors going on around us. You have energy independence, the two wars, leadership, health care, taxes, national security. Don’t just vote on one single tree but rather vote on the entire forest. Don’t just vote who is most popular with the crowd. This isn’t high school so don’t buy into the peer pressure of either side. Instead vote your concious, vote your heart, and vote using YOUR brain. Hopefully by now, you’ve dug deep enough between both candidates. If not, just remember it was you who chose the man in office and if he screws up then it’s your fault because you put him there. Just cast your vote responsibly and wisely. That’s all you can do and it’s all anyone expects you to do.

As for election night, I’m predicting that it will be a long night. I feel like there’s something churning underneath all of this and one way or another we will all be surprised. Part of America will be sad and mad if their man doesn’t win. It’s to be expected. Just know that at the end of the day, we are all Americans and if we let one election divide us all then we’re doomed ot fail. So, whoever wins, it’s in the hands of someone higher than ourselves.

So, now I’ll end this on a rather familiar note, a partisan one (though just for the record I AM indepdent and not affiliated with either party though I tend to lean more towards the Republican party than I do the Democratic)

Go McCain/Palin!

and without his grace and humbled attitude, i concede.

November 4, 2008 at 10:57 pm (bad news, life in general, mccain files, obama files, personal heroes, personal writing, political information, ranting about politics) (, , , , , , , , )

He ended with as much grace as he entered this campaign in. He had so many forces battling against him that this battle was just one the American Hero could not overcome. He fought for this country when the rest of the world cried foul at the war he fought in. John McCain has always served this country and will continue to do so after this election. He is a man who is made of honor and duty. His loyalty to this country can never be questioned. His strength can never be tested.

What happened tonight may be historical in many ways. The way I take it is one completely different than those I know. This defeat has left me bitter and hurt. It’s something I will have to work to repair within myself. Am I disappointed? Yes. Not by my country but the people within the country. My words are obviously filled with anger and sadness. You would have felt the same way if Barack Obama had lost so let me have my right to grieve over this election.

My words are jumbled, rushed, and hardly eloquent right now. As everyone knows I think too much and say too little. It’s not in my nature to say everything that‘s on my mind and in my heart. Well, tonight that’s been broken. There will be no more of the quiet reader or the silent thinker. My role will be much different after today.

John Adam once said that no democracy lasts. It often commits suicide. Maybe this our beginning of the end. Maybe not. Only time will tell. Many people probably think I’m a fool or an idiot for crying as I write this but this election meant a lot more to me than I thought it did. My heart had become entwined with the McCain campaign and when PA and OH came, my heart broke just like the rest of theirs. It was a hard fought battle but battle that just had too much ammo against a man that I consider my own personal role model. I hope to emulate his gracious exit with some dignity intact though it it’ll take me a few days to wrap my head around this. I knew the reality but I didn’t want to accept it until I saw the words on the screen.

Perhaps I invested too much spirit into this campaign and not enough effort. Perhaps my belief that people would look beyond a face, beyond the charm that they would see was wrong. The people of Ohio and Pennsylvania didn’t look to facts, didn’t listen to the common sense. You thought George Bush was bad? Tell me how you feel in four years.

So, I concede defeat for this round but I will never give up the war. I will be a part of history and hopefully alter it for the better. I

Your question to me will probably be, am I going to get behind a Barack Obama? My question to you in return is, did you get behind George Bush?

we have a right to be sad so let us be.

November 5, 2008 at 12:27 am (bad news, good news, mccain files, obama files, personal heroes, personal writing, political information, presidential file, ranting about politics) (, , , , , , , )

If Barack Obama had lost, you would have been sad too. McCain supporters are sad and we have that right so let us mourn. You won, we lost. The battle was hard but you should still respect us as we are now begrudgingly going to have to line up behind the title that is President of the United States of America. It doesn’t mean I have to like it because I really don’t. I’ll swallow my bitter pill and just you wait, four years later and our roles will be reversed.

John McCain is one of my own personal heroes and damn it, I’m mad that he didn’t win and I have a right to show it. I have a right to be a sore loser because I can in no way shape or form emulate his humility and acceptance the way that he does.

Just so you know, I will ALWAYS respect the position of President but I will never respect Barack Obama the man. You can say what you will but on that front you will never change my opinion.

All comments are moderated so hateful words won’t be approved. I am allowed to go through my four stages: hurt, denial, realization, and acceptance. Right now I’m on the first one so I’m more than likely to be crankier than usual.

At the end of the day, we’re all American and we must come together. Just not tonight.

the morning after.

November 5, 2008 at 11:20 am (bad news, constitution files, founding father files, good news, mccain files, obama files, political information, presidential file, ranting about politics) (, , , , , , , )

It’s still hard to conceive that Obama is our President-Elect. It’s hard to believe that John McCain lost. I woke up this morning and just couldn’t understand it. I’ve come to understand it and accept it though. So, my best wishes are going out to our PE and I hope he proves us all wrong by being an exceptional president that won’t make the mistakes that we all worry about. My heart still hurts because this was a bitter fought battle, the country had been split and I’m part of the split which is sad that their team has lost. However, we cannot turn our backs on America. There are two paths with which we can take.

We can become embittered and turn our back on the post with which we wanted someone else in it. We can loose our spirit that we all found during the election. We have another choice. We can congratulate Mr. Obama and keep our eyes vigilant just like they kept their eyes focused in on President Bush. I personally am going to choose the second path. History was made last night. Was it for the better? Perhaps or perhaps not but it is up to us to make it for the better. Don’t let your crushed hopes be your losing faith in America. America is still the great country it was last night. Politicians can’t change the foundation upon which our country is built unless we let them. The Constitution is still alive and well and it’s up to us to protect it these next four years.

So, whether we like it or not, we have a new president and we must take it for it what it is.

A small leak can sink a great ship.

- Benjamin Franklin

Therefore let us be ready to repair the leak at first sight.

bipartisan, my donkey!

White House Chief of Staff Choice & President Elect Barack Obama

Wasn’t President Elect Barack Obama’s message all about mending Washington’s political battleground? So, does anyone want to tell me why he chose the most partisan democrat he could to be his White House Chief of Staff? No one? Mmkay then. Sounds like to me the President Elect is either your typical politician who’ll say anything to get elected (duhh, already knew that) or he’s just doesn’t know what to do. Better yet, it’s probably both. Well, PE BO, this is no bi-partisan effort on your end but this could be another reason Republicans won’t come your way because Rahm Emmanuel isn’t someone who likes to shake hands with those who don’t share his Democratic views. Sir, day one and you’re already showing your partisanship. Here’s to hoping at the very least that you’re better than former President Jimmy freakin’ Carter (whom I wasn’t alive to see but I’ve heard enough stories to where I understand that Carter was just a bad, bad, bad choice.)

my computer is part of a conspiracy…

November 9, 2008 at 1:48 pm (bad news, good news, life in general, personal writing)

No, seriously, it is. I was reading something and then WHAM! My keyboard and mouse go kaput! At first, I thought it was the fact that the batteries had went out (cause the keyboard & mouse I was using were wireless and required batteries) but no, that wasn’t it. Anyways, I won’t drag this out except to offer this bit of advice, if you’re using wireless technology that requires batteries, ALWAYS have a set of back up batteries. If that fails then you should probably have an old keyboard & mouse set hanging around so you don’t have to wait two days before you can get on your computer again. Siiiigh. It could be worse. Anywho, I have political stuff that I’ll rant about later. For now, I’m going to do something else…like find the quote of the day….hmm, that sounds good.

politicians are just in it for the money.

November 9, 2008 at 10:41 pm (obama files, personal writing, political information, ranting about politics) (, , , , , )

Well, that’s what you can argue for most politicians at the very least. There are a few out there that are for the people but you have to dig deep below the surface that is the U.S. Congress and Washington D.C. Politicians are rather easy to sum up. They may be arrayed in backgrounds but their goals can usually be found to all be of a similiar nature. They either want the money, the attention, or the power. Some have an ambitious hunger for that lovely esteemed Oval office, not because of what they could do for the people but for the power hold that it symbolizes. Call me a cynic but that’s the way I see most politicians. The only politician you can trust in the world of politics would be yourself. You never say what you don’t want spread around. Being a politician is like being a celebrity in that regard. You’ve got to protect reputation so that the people will re-elect you.

Politicians every election season have to throw up the best sale’s pitch they can and hope their meaningless words can be bought. After all, it isn’t what the people want but what you can make the people THINK they want. For example, a few days before the Presidential election was over and done with, a friend of mine who was an Obama supporter (of the maniac kind) cornered me and began badgering me about changing my vote. She tried to say, ‘but Barack Obama will bring change!’ Which I prompted with, ‘what kind of change? What has he ever done that’s prompted that he would actually change anything?’ She floundered and finally came up with the pitch that had hooked her in in the first place, ‘he’s going to give a tax cut to 95% of America! He’s giving money back to the people!’ Which of course in this economic environment is impossible. It doesn’t take an economist or a rocket scientist to figure THAT out. I also told her that raising taxes on the top five percent would hurt her because she would in turn see prices rise and job cuts skyrocket. Well, at least that’s my interpretation of what higher taxes would do in this current upheaval of an economy we have. In the end, we ended the conversation with me asking her to look at EVERY single policy and to ask herself if that’s what SHE really wanted.

She called me Monday night and said no, that’s not what she wanted.

You can guess which way she voted on Tuesday but it didn’t help any.

So, the point of this post is to explain, instead of taking everything a politician says at face value and accepting it as the best idea, don’t. Politicians should always be viewed from a skeptical view or they WILL take you down the tubes of which you’d never thought that you’d go to. (That didn’t particularly make sense but I’m sure you got the gist of the metaphor.) Always ask questions and don’t let them just get away with saying stuff. Don’t let them convince you on words alone. Oh, and never ever, ever trust a politician.

I think I’ve covered everything there is. It might not have made any sense since I have a bad, bad habit of jumping off topic and onto another tangent. By the way, this doesn’t represent all the politicians as a whole, just a majority. ; D

just for the record

November 10, 2008 at 7:50 pm (personal writing, ranting about music, ranting about politics, updates) (, , , )

I turn nineteen in 3 days.

yay me!!

Moving along, tonight I’m going to be watching Greta & her interview with Sarah Palin. Honestly, I am so ready for 2012 that it ain’t even funny! =) Anyways, after I watch said interview I am going to give my own full analysis of what I think because…I can and if you read it then you’re rad, if not that’s just sad because anything I write is automatically awesome. (That actually depends on your interpretation of what is awesome and not awesome.) I’m also planning on throwing on some historical stuff out either late tonight or tomorrow sometime. I will also unleash a new playlist because I’m nifty and have no social life to keep me occupied at the moment. ;)

a holiday already?

November 10, 2008 at 8:43 pm (bad news, obama files, obamaniacs, presidential file, ranting about politics) (, , , , , , )

Well, that didn’t take long. People are already trying to declare a national holiday for a man who’s done nothing but give speeches and get elected President Elect. Yeah, yeah, I get the historic value of the situation and all but we already have a holiday for presidents. We don’t need more. As Sarah Palin would say, ‘thanks but, no, thanks.’ Oh, oh, and the grand date that they’ve chosen? Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. Yeah, that’s right. They want to declare a national holiday on Abe’s birthday for Barack Obama.

….idiots.

And that’s all I have to say.

the joyless bear and garriage

November 14, 2008 at 8:55 pm (personal writing, political information, ranting about politics) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

The Joyless Bear (whom others may know as her alias, Joy Behar) is hosting LKL and tonight’s topic is gay marriage. I’m among the many who are like, let them get married but don’t redefine the word, ‘marriage’…make up your own, jeeeeez. Garriage would be a good word don’t you think? I think so. Why do they need the exact word marriage when they simply want the same rights with which the word holds? Why not make up a new word with the same rights? That way you have a seperation of state and church because honestly, the church who follows the Christian religion will NOT allow ‘gay marriage’ to pass through their halls because it’s against what they preach. Duuuuh, so why do they need the word marriage? Call me clueless.

The word marriage is derrived from Middle England which I’m pretty sure was all about a man marrying a woman for the bettering of themselves and rarely the woman. Soooo, I’m saying rename it as garriage (it wouldn’t sound like garage but more like gare-ee-aghe cause it’s more…French. : D) That’s my suggestion to the Joyless Bear and company.
They should also quit protesting against a Church which has ALWAYS preached against anything gay because in Christianity, being gay isn’t allowed. Maybe instead they should go personally to the homes of those who voted against Prop 8. Siiigh, some people have NO common sense whatsoever.

a little common sense to the inept government.

November 14, 2008 at 9:26 pm (personal writing, political information, ranting about politics) (, , , , , , , , , , , , )

Dear U.S. Government,

First off, I want to thank you for the rescue plan because I mean it’s working so well right now. Uhm, nooot. Mr. Paulson is doing one heck of a job (of proposing spending money but not how he’s actually going to spend it.) I also want to thank all the politicians who voted for this bill because it was the most political expedient thing they could do…

I imagine that’s how my actual letter would go and it would continue along those same lines. Now, that my sarcasm is off, let’s get down to some common sense that the government has always seemed to lack–majority wise. The bailout-financial rescue–whatever plan was NOT a good idea. The idea of giving money to people who were failing is just stupid. There is a reason they failed. Maybe it’s how they handled their book or whatever but it is ultimately their fault and they should crash and burn for that mistake. Let new business rise and take over those old spots but make sure that these new business have the tools to succeed unlike the AIG bozos.

As for the automobile industry, they’ve been in the stages of falling apart for years so you know what? Let them fall apart, restructure, and learn from their mistakes. Unlike the government, business actually pays attention to things they did in the past that didn’t work the first time around. So, government and politicians, get your dirty hands out of the American taxpayer’s pocket and put them to good use on how to actually fix the problem instead of throwing money at the problem. That’s never solved ANYTHING merely created more problems.

And that’s my common sense to the inept government.

some songs are more than music.

November 17, 2008 at 11:06 am (good news, music review, personal writing, playlist, ranting about music) (, , , , , , , )

“Why is it so hard?

Why can’t you just take me?

I don’t have much to go

Before I fade completely”

Irvine, My December, Kelly Clarkson

Honestly, at first, because of the recording style of the song, I was a bit turned off but once the words started, I got sucked in. This is a song that can connect on many different levels. Some might take it dealing with a relationship with God and some may take it as a relationship with someone else. It transcends that because there’s a common feeling in the notes and the words. I can’t explain it but it is by far one of my new favorite songs.

It’s not the typical ‘rock’ or ‘pop’ song. It’s far more…folksy and raw. Good lyrics, untouched voiced, and a simple acoustic guitar. Of course, in my opinion that’s the best kind of music you can get. When something is just strings and a voice today, it’s far more emotional than it was years ago because you now have people throwing technology in the mix. I’ve always been more of a natural girl when it comes to certain songs and this is one of those certain songs.

get out your history book, kids…

November 18, 2008 at 10:37 pm (bad news, clinton files, congress files, good news, obama files, political information, presidential file, ranting about politics, wh staff files) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Because is it me or are we repeating history just a little bit with PEBO’s (oooh, I’d never thought to pair them all together…hmm, okay so from now on he’s PEBO because honestly, it takes to long to write out President Elect Barack Obama every time I need to mention his name.) administration?

So, the former Deputy Att. Gen. from the Clinton era is now going to be Att. Gen. for the Obama era? Senator Clinton is possibly going to be the Secretary of State? Rahm Emmanuel is his WH Chief of Staff? John Podesta (whom by the way has a fascination with little green men from space…I’m not even going to eleborate on that but I’m pretty sure you can guess what I think on that subject…loony toon much?) is leading his transition team?
Mr. PEBO, this is not change. No, sir. This is exactly the SAME eight years back.
